Meditation is a conscious effort, a self-directed practice or discipline for experiencing complete relaxation; free from stress, tension, anxiety and depression. Although meditation has its roots in some of the Eastern Religious Tradition, meditation never presupposes any belief in religious dogmas or doctrines, but it aims to promote inner peace and happiness by focusing awareness within the field of consciousness. Consciousness is beyond the boundaries of religion, culture and tradition. Hence meditation is non-religious. As one gets closer to the inner being, consciousness, which is of the nature of joy, happiness and tranquility, one experiences the bliss of life. Meditation is an inner voyage to peace and happiness.
